Tampa Film Blog, Tampa Bay Film, And Other Projects Update

More work has been done on the Tampa Bay Film assets. I've removed some content from the Tampa Film Blog, and adjusted the remaining content. I also adjusted Tampa Bay Film, the Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival, and Tampa Film Review. Some removed blog content will be put into the blog index when it is refreshed next, and some won't be coming back (such as the entries where I whine about the poor promotion of certain film Tampa festivals and speculate about the behavior of certain people in the Tampa indie film scene. Also gone are the rumors of the Tampa Star Trek series, which remains unconfirmed- but a cool, new Star Trek film is about to go up on the online film festival, and it was a result of research done regarding that post). Additionally, I may update the 2009 "It List", move it to a regular feature section on Tampa Bay Film, and make supporting adjustments with that post here on the Tampa Film Blog.

I should have more films added to the online film festival by tomorrow morning. I would have added them this morning, but I have some phone calls to make, some clients to contact, and I have some writing to finish up. I am currently in the middle of writing the review for The Tampa Film Review 2009 film festival. It should be published on Tampa Bay Film next week. I will also be writing a full review and historical guide for the full five year run of The Tampa Film Review 2004-2009 next month. It should be published on Tampa Bay Film in September, creating an index of four reviews of The Tampa Film Review.

In other news, it has been decided that we will not open up an indie film tutorial and an interview / film festival coverage channel on the Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival. Interviews, film festival coverage, and filmmaking tutorials will be placed on Tampa Bay Film, as we want to keep the online film festival as indie film-relevant as possible. As stated before, most of our Tampa film festival coverage will begin in 2010, as I have a lot to do the rest of the year.

Oh, yes, and I had a staff meeting last week where we were discussing event productions and promotions. We now have four Tampa film festival properties in the works; the Tampa Film Showcase monthly film festival and professional networking event series, which will be our main workhorse, a large annual film festival which ties into the Tampa Film Showcase, the annual horror film festival (described as a new "species" of film festival), and the secret film festival property. At any rate, there may be more Tampa film festivals and indie film-relevant events in the works. We were going over some ideas for a new type of film festival format which is different, and even more advanced, than the four properties that I am working on. It seems that I am always planning several moves, or generations, ahead. The film festival concept is very cool, and we're still trying to get our heads around some of the concepts that were brought up. It doesn't make my other film festival properties (or my online film festival - present and future incarnations) dated, or obsolete, by any means, as each has a defined purpose, but it is a very interesting, and unique, concept. It is well worth exploring further.

For now, let's see if I can get a new film up on the online film festival before I have to call it a day.
