East Meets West to Create Psychological Thriller
With Corbin Bernsen

Tampa, FL - (Friday, November 13, 2009) – Florida Filmmaker, Russell Hess heads to Arizona to collaborate with Tempe filmmaker Lanny Rethaber to produce their next film with actor, Corbin Bernsen.

Rethaber and Hess have pulled-out quite a few stops to make their latest creation, tentatively titled “Closets,” a psychological thriller set in the sunny, East Valley of Phoenix. Both Rethaber and Hess are also actors and have pursued film production in order to make great independent films as well as continue their careers as performers.

“Closets” revolves around a middle-aged father/paranormal investigator, “Jonas” (played by Rethaber) who is tracking an unexplained entity that took his wife and son. Seven years later, the same entity returns for more carnage and “Jonas” is back in the paranormal investigation business. “Jonas’” path leads him to a distraught family who has suffered a similar experience when their own child turns-up missing. Corbin Bernsen will play “Grant,” the father of the boy “Jonas” tries to help recover.

“This is our most ambitious film yet. We’ve got aerial shots of various parts of the valley, mind-numbing special effects and film and television star, Corbin Bernsen” says Rethaber. “We’re so grateful to have him. He’s a phenomenal performer and he will be fantastic in the role of “Grant.”

Corbin Bernsen has starred in over 70 films and has been nominated twice for both Emmy’s and Golden Globe Awards for his role as “Arnie Becker” on the hit TV drama, “L.A. Law.” Some memorable films include: Major League I, II, & Back to the Minors,” “Disorganized Crime,” “Shattered” and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.” He can also be seen on the USA series “Psych” and the long-running daytime drama, “The Young and the Restless” as “Father Todd Williams.”

Hess, also an actor, has produced a handful of “indies” and teamed-up with Rethaber after he procured a distribution deal for Rethaber’s first feature film, “The 11th Aggression” which is due to be released on satellite and cable in early 2010 by several providers. “Lanny’s got a knack for making high quality ‘studio alternative’ movies and I’ve wanted to work with him for quite some time,” says Hess. “’Closets’ is going to fantastic! Be prepared for a good old-fashioned, creepy movie. The only thing missing was a movie star and we got a great one! I’ve been a fan of Mr. Bernsen for a long time and I consider myself lucky and blessed to get to work with him.”

”Closets” will be shot almost entirely in the Eastern part of Phoenix and Bernsen’s portions of the film will be done in Tempe. Such spectacular stunts and effects and stunts are not generally achieved in independent productions and landing a star is even more unusual. This film will be a fine example of creative filmmaking at its best no matter what part of the country you’re from.

To learn more about the film, Russell Hess can be reached at: 323-515-4881.

EXPERIMENT 7 is a fast paced action horror film set in the post apocalyptic world.

SYNOPSIS

Dr. Felix Copper (Rod Grant) is a man of science in a world that has been destroyed by nuclear war. After losing his colleague, Dr. Armstrong (Jack Amos), Felix must get himself and his wife Maria (Cheryl Kalada) to the underground lab safely, and find a way to purify water before it’s too late. If he can reach the lab and upload the date sending to Melanie Philips (Alan Rowe Kelly) and Holy Croft (Raine Brown) scientists in another lab in New York, together they may find a solution.

Along the way he meets Sam (Joe Davison) and William (Dwight Cenac), two very heroic adventures who just happen to want to help him reach his goal and stay alive. All is fine until they meet Alyson Conrad or as she’s known to many ACO (Candice Rojas), the super model turned weapons expert. She too has been surviving in the wasteland and is ready to find some decent shelter.

They make their way across the deserted landscapes to finally reach their destination. Now, it’s up to Felix to keep working his research while Sam, William, and Aco find food and weapons to keep them all alive.

After losing his wife Felix starts to garner feelings for the beautiful Aco causing a much unneeded drama. Felix is having trouble excepting the fact that he just might be going insane and that Aco isn’t into him. Taking off in heated frustration it is up to the gang to get him before he becomes mutant lunch.

Aco, does what she does best and builds a huge secret weapon, but it isn’t she finds a hidden cache of weapons that they fully feel that they can take out the mutants in big way. Loaded up with gear they make their way back into the hazardous wasteland to retrieve Felix.

The onslaught of mutants is almost over whelming until Aco unveils her secret weapon, sending a rocket into flight blowing most of them sky high. Managing to get Felix back to the lab they are once again forced to fight an onslaught of mutants, but at this point it’s too late for any of them. Felix has just enough time to send the data to New York and possibly save the world.

The casts includes Rod Grant, Candice Rojas and horror sensations Alan Rowe Kelly, Raine Brown, and Joe Davison; who also wrote and directed the film.

The majority of the film was shot in and around the Tampa Bay area with several segments shot in New Jersey, where Alan Rowe Kelly picked up the directors hat and was a guest director. The film was produced by Davison, along with Dwight Cenac, who also stars in the film, Alan Rowe Kelly, and Jon Sims. With Chris Rish at the helm of the lens as Director of Photography.
